Keningau - 14th April 2010. Police arrested four local people for allegedly gambling in a game of chance called Chap Jee Kee during Ops Dadu on Monday. District police chief DSP Zahari Mohamed said a police raiding team from Crime Investigation Department arrested the suspects aged between 40 and 64 in an unnumbered house at Kampung Bakiau at 2.30am on April 12. The operation led by Inspector Ahmad Rizal Umar, swung into action following a tip from the public that a gambling session was taking place in the house. Police also found 12 pieces of Chap Jee Kee dice, a match box containing one solution dice (an answer to a puzzle), 189 dominoes, RM 401 cash, six around chairs, four chairs used as table legs, one sheet of plank, a piece of cloth written with 12 plots Chap Jee Kee in Chinese characters in different colours where bets are place on. All the suspects and the seized gambling paraphernalia were taken to the Keningau police station and would be investigated under Section 6 (1) of the Common Gambling House Act 1953.
