SIBU: A theft suspect wanted by the police was arrested on Tuesday with 18 car keys seized from him. He was arrested around 4pm at Lane 2 Lanang Road.

The 33-year-old, surnamed Lau from Sarikei, has been placed under a two-day remand since yesterday. The police believed he had used a stolen four-wheel-drive vehicle to steal, snatch and rob in Sibu Jaya, Bintangor and Sarikei. Meanwhile, a 4-wheel-drive vehicle parked at Market Road here was found stolen on Thursday afternoon.

The owner was said to have left the car door open with the engine running while shopping nearby.

In a separate case, a man lost RM12,000 after his motorcycle spare parts store in Wawasan Road was broken in on Tuesday. The owner told police a closed-circuit TV (CCTV) footage caught two men stealing in his shop at 4 am.
