Two Suluks Held After High Speed Bike Chase
MIRI: Two Suluk men were arrested after a high speed chase by a police motorcycle patrol unit (MPU) at Jalan Dato' Permaisuri in Permyjaya around 11am on Sunday.
The duo, aged 21 and 19, are believed to be Filipinos.
According to sources, upon further inspection after the MPU personnel apprehended them, they failed to produce legal documents.
Both suspects were detained under police custody at the central police station (CPS).
Sources added that the duo fled on seeing a MPU team patrolling at Desa Pujut, prompting police to pursue them.
The case is being investigated under Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/1963 for entering the country illegally.
During the arrest, police also seized the motorcycle used by the suspects.
