A senior citizen was among two suspects arrested after police busted a drug deal and seized more than 200g of syabu at the parking lot of a shopping mall here.
Kota Kinabalu police chief ACP M. Chandra said, the 64-year-old unemployed man was handing over a black bag containing the synthetic drug to a 51-year-old lorry driver when a police team swooped in and arrested them on June 1.
He said police personnel had been monitoring the parking lot area after a tip-off. Asst Comm Chandra said both men became aggressive when police confronted them.
Initial investigations showed that the total weight of the syabu in four plastic bags was 202.46g with a street value of about RM30,000, he said.
