Kuala Lumpur, 15th October 2021 - The authorities are preparing for more interstate travellers this weekend, with checks to be stepped up to ensure that those not vaccinated do not try to cross state borders.
Police said they would inspect travellers digital vaccine certificates on MySejahtera to ensure they did not use fake vaccine certificates to cross state borders.
SAC Tuan M.V. Srikumar Nair, from Bukit Aman Internal Security and Public Order Department said, "Yes, we will check the certificates of travellers.
"If they are caught doing this without being fully vaccinated, we will issue compounds against them immediately," he said.
Internal Security and Public Order Department director, CP Dato' Hazani Ghazali also said, police will monitor hotspot areas such as rest and relaxation (R&R) areas.
