Penang Cops Nab Indonesian Threatening To Blow Up Plane
Balik Pulau - Police have detained an Indonesian farmer who threatened to blow up a plane at the Penang International Airport in Bayan Lepas here.
The man, 61, was apparently upset after he was told by airline staff that his luggage had exceeded the allocated limit at the check-in counter.
He then flew into a rage and shouted; "Bom kapal hari ini bagi semua mati" (Blow up the plane and kill everyone today).
The staff, after getting instruction from her superior, barred the man from boarding the 12.10pm flight to Medan on Wednesday.
She then lodged a police report after learning that the suspect had booked a 6.15pm flight with another airline.
Balik Pulau OCPD Supt Lai Fah Hin said the case would be investigated under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation. - The Star Online
