Kota Kinabalu: Malaysian security forces are planning to flush out migrants in the various settlements in Sabah to get rid of those who pose a threat to national security.

The notorious migrant settlement at Telipok had been cleaned up following a massive operation there two weeks ago, said Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Abdul Rashid Harun.

"We are focusing on other migrant settlements after this,” he said after a community clean-up involving more than 600 security personnel as well as Civil Defence, City Hall and Health Department personnel at the Telipok settlement yesterday.

He said police were continuing their investigations into the six individuals who were arrested during the security operation at the Telipok settlement on Feb 13.

“They have been detained under the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act and are cooperating with us,” said Abdul Rashid.
