Latin American Burglar Nabbed
Kuala Lumpur, Aug 27 - A male foreigner believed to be from South America was arrested on Tuesday night over a house break-in case with losses amounting to RM15,000 in Taman Danau Kota, Setapak here.
Wangsa Maju police chief Supt Mohamad Roy Suhaimi Sarif said the suspect, aged 27, was apprehended at Jalan Danau Kota after a car chase involving the houseowner and a police motorcycle patrol unit (URB).
"The chased ended when the suspect's car tyres were shot as he attempted to reverse his vehicle after his pathway was blocked by a taxi.
"Police found several burglary tools in the car but the stolen items were not found," he told reporters here today.
Mohamad Roy said police believed the stolen goods were in the possession of an accomplice who managed to escape.
"The houseowner on returning home from his workplace noticed the man in the neighbourhood. On finding his house broken into, he immediately went after the suspect," he added. - BERNAMA
