Labourer Arrested For Drug Possession
Miri, 22 Januari 2017 - Police arrested a 37-year-old labourer during a raid on a Kampung Tunku Abdul Rahman house in Lambir on Friday for drug possession following a tip-off.
During the 11.10am incident, police seized 33 gm of ketamine and 3.54 gm of ecstasy from him.
Miri Deputy Police Chief Supt Stanley Jonathan Ringgit told thesundaypost that the police team led by Insp Wikkram Sandra found suspected illegal substances during a search of the suspect’s bedroom.
“Following the search held, the team discovered two transparent plastic packets. One of them contained six pill capsules in gold colour, suspected to be ecstasy, while another transparent plastic packet was believed to contain ketamine,” he said.
The suspect has been detained under police custody at the Miri Central police station for questioning.
The case is being investigated under Section 39A(2) and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
