Keratan Akhbar Pilihan Penang Cops Rescue Abused Girl
Permatang Pauh, 10th February 2020 - For over a year, an 11-year-old girl is believed to have endured extreme agony at the hands of her stepmother, who allegedly beat her with a motorcycle helmet, sticks and clothes hangers.
Rescuers who found her at her home yesterday were stunned to see her condition.
Apart from cracked lips, both her eyes were so swollen that she could not even open them.
Police had acted on a tip-off from a neighbour and inspected the girl's family home at the Ampang Jajar flats here, yesterday.
Seberang Prai Tengah District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Nik Ros Azhan Nik Ab Hamid confirmed the incident. He said the case was being investigated for child abuse.
