Kuala Lumpur, 31st December 2020 - Bukit Aman will review all cold cases after checks showed that many lacked follow-up action, says the Inspector-General of Police. Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Abdul Hamid Bador said, they would conduct audits to ensure that such cases were properly investigated.
The country's top cop said he did not want the people to be disappointed, adding that some even questioned the need to lodge a police report when there was no follow-up action.
"Our main task is to defend and seek justice for the people and not to victimise them. "Every step of progress in a case should be explained in detail to the complainant so the next course of action can be taken,” he said during an interview with selected media in Bukit Aman yesterday.
