He said he could see the two hearses carrying their bodies leaving the hospital's forensics department.

“A heavy feeling of sadness filled my heart, especially when I saw their remains being carried out through a window in my ward. It was a very heartbreaking sight. What hurts me the most is not being able to pay my last respects and physically join in the funeral prayers,” he said.

The father of three said he had known Konstabel Ahmad Azza Fahmi Azhar and Konstabel Muhamad Syafiq Ahmad Said for about two years.

Koperal Mohd Hasif, 38, said he witnessed the funeral prayers through a live-streamed video on social media.

“Although I am grateful to have survived the attack, my feeling is mixed with a great deal of sadness,” he said, adding that he is recovering well.
