Retired police officer, DSP Emily Koshy who turns 91 this October, was once among the first female police officers in Malaya. She joined the police force during the Emergency period, encouraged by her father, and successfully completed the training at Pusat Latihan Polis (PULAPOL) Kuala Lumpur.
Throughout her career, she played an important role in community duties, particularly involving women and children. DSP Emily was known for her firmness, strong principles and high integrity.
One of her significant achievements was leading the women police contingent during the Merdeka Parade in 1957. She received numerous awards in recognition of her service and sacrifices. Although she is now retired, the spirit and values she upheld continue to inspire new generations.
