Alor Star - Kedah police arrested three men and a woman for possessing two pistols and 15 bullets in a raid on a house in Taman Desa Seraya here yesterday.

Kedah Criminal Investigations Department chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Nashir Ya said the suspects comprised two Thai men, a local woman and a Thai man holding permanent residence (PR) status. The suspects were aged between 40 and 60.

He said during the 12.10am raid, police found a Beretta, a fake pistol, 15.32 calibre bullets, a pair of handcuffs and a taser gun.

“Police also found three fake authority cards allegedly belonging to a special officer at the National Security Council, a senior intelligence officer at the Consulate General of Malaysia in Songkhla, Thailand, and a senior intelligence officer of the Thai-Malaysia Border Special Investigations Unit.

"We believe the cards were used by the suspects in committing crimes. We are investigating the case," he said at the Kedah police contingent headquarters here yesterday.
