Kota Kinabalu: Six-year-old Yusaidinnor Bakari, who had his left eye removed last year, had a whale of a time after he was taken for a 40-minute ride over the city here yesterday. 

Yusaidinnor, from Kampung Sejati in Semporna, got his wish to fly in a helicopter with help from the Children's Wish Society (CWS) of Malaysia and Sabah police. 

He boarded the Eurocopter AS355N of the Sabah Air Wing Unit at Terminal 2 here at 9am with his mother, Maimunnah Ghani, and Sabah deputy police commissioner Datuk Awang Sahari Em Hadzeer. 

Yusaidinnor was speechless as he enjoyed his aerial view of the city and Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park. 

"Last month, a doctor asked him about his wish and my son said he wanted to fly in a helicopter. We have never ridden a plane and this experience is our first and a meaningful one. 

"We thank CWS Malaysia and the police for fulfilling my son's dream," said Maimunnah.
