Petaling Jaya, 5th July 2023 - Jalan 14/58 residents and others in the vicinity heard from police that their Section 14 housing area in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, has been identified as a “zero crime” area.
They cheered loudly when Petaling Jaya Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department Chief, DSP Sivakumar Thankaraja announced the good news.
However, he emphasised during the community gathering the importance of remaining vigilant. He urged residents to stay cautious.
“While the immediate area remains relatively crime-free, break-ins have been reported at Jalan 14/34 and Jalan 14/36.”
He said Petaling Jaya had seen a notable increase in reported cases involving scammers, with nearly 400 incidents reported this year alone.
“It is essential for us to be careful and well-informed about these matters, as the authorities can only provide limited assistance.
“Ultimately, personal well-being should be our top priority,” he said.
