It was about 10am when I turned left off Jalan Travers into the road connecting to Jalan Damansara and Lebuhraya Sultan Iskandar, just after the Brickfields police headquarters.

A traffic policeman at the end of the connecting road signalled me to stop to allow traffic in Jalan Damansara to proceed.

It was the policeman's gestures that interested me.

He signalled me with his right hand to stop and then placed his right palm on the left side of his chest, apparently thanking me for having stopped.
