Kuala Lumpur, 4th May 2025 - Investigations into domestic violence cases continue even when victims withdraw their police reports both in the pursuit of justice and to serve as a deterrent.

Kuala Lumpur, 4th May 2025 - Investigations into domestic violence cases continue even when victims withdraw their police reports both in the pursuit of justice and to serve as a deterrent.

Principal Assistant Director of Bukit Aman Sexual, Women and Child Investigation Division (D11), SAC Siti Kamsiah Hassan said, police do not rely solely on reports lodged.

“Even if a victim does not cooperate, we will refer to medical reports and circumstantial evidence, such as signs of physical abuse and statements from other witnesses,” she told the New Straits Times.
