Kota Kinabalu, 4th March 2025 - Sabah's General Operations Force (GOF) seized illicit goods worth a total of RM35.28 million and arrested 27 people in a 10-day operation that began on February 19.

GOF officers and personnel carried out 14 raids in several districts, including Papar, Sandakan, Lahad Datu and Keningau.

State GOF Commander, SAC Datuk Abdul Rani Alias said yesterday one raid took place in a village in Jalan Papar Lama, resulting in the arrest of three people.

In the operation, authorities discovered the illicit extraction, storage and sale of river sand.

“These activities were carried out without a Class B licence under Regulation 3(1) of the Sabah Land Ordinance, which expired in November.

“The total value of the seized items is estimated at RM5.81 million.

“The case is being investigated under Regulation 3(2) of the Sabah Land Ordinance (CAP 68),” he said.
