The Department of Internal Security and Public Order (KDNKA) is a key division within the Royal Malaysia Police responsible for maintaining internal security and public order in Malaysia. The department plays a vital role in law enforcement, public safety management, and handling security threats and emergencies.KDNKA is led by a Director with the rank of Commissioner of Police and supported by five Deputy Directors overseeing Operations, General Operations Force (GOF/PGA), General Policing, Special Operations Force (PGK), and Wildlife Crime Bureau/Special Investigation Intelligence.VisionTo uphold the rule of law for public well-being and national security.MissionTo lead in ensuring national security and maintaining public order.Functions Strengthen law enforcement to ensure public safety and order Enhance operational efficiency, traffic management, and crowd control Safeguard land borders and maritime areas Improve capabilities in counter-terrorism and high-risk operations Strengthen integrated public security management Units under KDNKAGeneral Operations Force (PGA / GOF)A paramilitary unit responsible for border security, jungle operations, and combating smuggling and illegal entry.Special Operations Force (PGK)An elite tactical unit including VAT 69 and UTK, specialising in counter-terrorism, hostage rescue, and high-risk operations.Marine Police Force (PGM)Responsible for maritime security, preventing smuggling, illegal entry, and criminal activities at sea and inland waters.Federal Reserve Unit (PSP / FRU)Handles public order duties such as riot control, crowd management, and support during emergencies and disasters.Air Operations Force (PGU)Provides aerial support including surveillance, search and rescue (SAR), and logistical assistance during operations.Wildlife Crime Bureau / Special Investigation Intelligence (WCB/PSK)Focuses on combating wildlife crimes such as poaching and illegal trafficking, while also conducting special intelligence operations on serious crimes.
