The Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department (JPJKK) is a key division within the Royal Malaysia Police responsible for developing strategies and implementing initiatives to prevent crime and enhance public safety.Established on 9 June 2014, the department is led by a Director (Commissioner of Police) and supported by two Deputy Directors: Strategic Planning and Operations.ObjectiveTo develop and implement strategies aimed at reducing crime and improving public perception of safety.VisionTo be the leading authority in crime prevention to ensure a safe and secure Malaysia.MissionTo implement holistic and integrated crime prevention approaches towards building a safe and harmonious community.BackgroundThe establishment of JPJKK is linked to Malaysia’s Government Transformation Programme (GTP) introduced in 2009, which identified crime reduction as a key national priority.Following various initiatives by the Royal Malaysia Police, a dedicated department was proposed in 2013.
