AMANITA is an NBOS initiative that empowers housewives to serve as the eyes and ears of the community, helping PDRM identify, report, and prevent crime in neighbourhood areas.
AMANITA is built on three key pillars: community engagement, women’s empowerment, and strategic collaboration with PDRM. The programme focuses on trust-building, safety awareness, and early action in identifying suspicious activities within neighbourhoods.
A dedicated PDRM initiative that engages housewives in strengthening neighbourhood safety.
AMANITA was established by PDRM as a strategic platform to connect with the community, especially women and housewives, in gathering information related to unreported crime. Through this initiative, housewives are given an important role as police partners in supporting safer neighbourhoods.
Senior female police officers are appointed in every district to connect PDRM with local communities.
Each district is assigned a senior female police officer with the rank of Inspector to serve as a “Peace Lady”. They act as the intermediary between the police and the public, particularly housewives, by sharing safety information, conducting awareness programmes, and receiving crime-related information for further police action.
Stronger ties between the police and the public help reduce fear of crime and improve public confidence.
Through two-way communication and on-the-ground engagement, AMANITA helps create a closer relationship between PDRM and the community. This initiative encourages the public to be more alert to their surroundings, more confident in sharing information, and more active in working together to reduce crime in their local areas.

This programme includes educational sharing on personal safety, family protection, property security, and how to identify and report suspicious activities effectively.
Information received from the public is forwarded to the appropriate authorities to ensure that follow-up action can be taken in a timely and organised manner.
