This green agenda blueprint supports environmental conservation and promotes a safer environment for society. PDRM’s early implementation established the organisation as a pioneer and model for green practices in the public sector.

The development blueprint was launched by Dato' Seri Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak on 9 January 2014 to create awareness and improve understanding among PDRM personnel and the public regarding green practices and green technology application. The PDRM Government Green Procurement (GGP) Implementation Seminar on 27 November 2014 further strengthened PDRM’s position as a pioneer in green procurement across government agencies.

Through the Department of Strategic Resources and Technology (StaRT), PDRM has continued to organise programmes that cultivate green practices and embed Green Technology as a departmental priority.

Early implementation focused on strengthening institutional frameworks, daily operations and green procurement, building and utility management, transport, ICT, and community programmes.

Key actions included the establishment of Green Practice and Green Technology committees across organisational levels, the formation of the Technology Analysis and Development Division (TechAD), GGP seminars and training sessions, participation in IGEM 2014 and 2015, 3R programme implementation, Life Cycle Costing workshops, pilot government green procurement projects, energy audits, retrofit work at Taman Tun Dr. Ismail Police Station, hybrid solar installations at Pulau Mabul Police Station, use of Eclimo electric scooters, PC Power Management deployment, and a range of community-focused green programmes.

The implementation strategy emphasises efficient energy use, prudent water management, more orderly waste disposal, environmentally friendly vehicle management, and prioritising green products and services.

This approach is translated into practical daily habits such as switching off equipment when not in use, maximising daylight, preventing water wastage, expanding 3R practices, sharing vehicles for common destinations, using biodegradable cleaning products, and replacing conventional products with more environmentally responsible alternatives.
